Internship with Fashion Scout Events and Graduate Fashion Week

As part of my degree, I was able to complete a year in industry as part of a placement programme. I was extremely fortunate to gain my placement with Fashion Scout Events and Graduate Fashion Week, which enabled me to experience the fast paced fashion events industry. My main role during my placement was a PR & Communications intern which allowed me to work closely with the PR manager to learn about all of the planning processes behind hosting an event. I was also able to work during LFW as a front of house runner, seating VIP guests and looking after designers backstage. As well as working in the PR team, I also collaborated with the digital team by designing graphics, posters and writing articles for their websites.

Celebrating International Women's Day

Article written for Graduate Fashion Week

Today all over the world, International Women’s Day is being celebrated! Here at Graduate Fashion Week, we want to share our acknowledgement of our thoughts on the importance of today, especially within the fashion industry.

Despite being 2018, with now over 100 years since the suffragettes fought for votes for some women, it has been proven that women are still struggling for equality. Gloria Steinem, American political activist and feminist once said “The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."

Pioneer Magazine: Fashion Conversation X Fashion Scout

Article written for Fashion Scout Events

Fashion Scout partnered up with The Fashion Conversation for SS18 to create our Pioneer magazine, debuting to give the audiences of Fashion Scout an insight into our emerging talent and designers. Pioneer, deriving from Fashion Scout’s mission to discover new talent in the fashion industry was created to allow the audience to find out more behind the innovative artists that they only see a glimpse of on the catwalk. Behind the creative chaos that is Fashion Scout, are inspiring, original designers that each have their own stories which are told on the catwalk. Pioneer magazine is a platform that allow Fashion Scout to share more than just what is shown on the runway.

Graphics

My internship with Fashion Scout Events and Graduate Fashion Week taught me a lot about the fashion event industry and also increased my skill set hugely.  I am now significantly more confident in my writing ability and was also able to teach myself how to make visual graphics and animations.
